So I was definitely not going to post any more remixes of Love Lockdown. Is this really the future of music? I guess so and I guess it isn’t all bad. Artist releases song on the internet to see if it buzzes before he drops the video and in the meantime 800 DJs remix it? Yea well I guess it could be worse. Dogwood Speaks! I love it, totally fresh track. Pretty sure this is a group of the singer/guitar player and a producer and I also believe this is who was featured on a few tracks from Mista Fab’s latest album, peep ‘Can’t Wait’ and I know theres another one I can’t put my finger on right now.  Anyway back to this track pretty much an acoustic guitar laid back campfire kind of jam with every single hyphy reference every mentioned, so as you can suspect its DOPE.

I know a whole lot of readers were digging “Webbafied Does It Justice” so I just wanted to give ya’ll an update on the project from Webbafied himself…

So…my band mate Morgane invited me to the Release Party for ED REC VOL.3…LIVE in Paris, France…Of course i accepted the invite and got into party mode…as some of you may know, my latest project “WebbaFied Does It Justice” is a cover of the Ed Banger Records Release “Cross”…So it was a very good look for me to be in the house with these folks..hmmmm…Lemme me rephrase that….not in the house..but ON THE BOAT…these dudes rented a boat for the party…it was nuts…we we’re on The River La Seine at midnight when the Eiffel Tower lights up and shit..It was so ill!!! Despite all the great scenery and extreme inebriation I had some promo work to do…the first Person I polly’d with was DJ A TRAK…i dont know what the hell he was doing there but I’m glad I got to build with him…he was cool…talked about the buzz surrounding the Glow in the Dark tour…chatted about my project…and kept bumpin into each other for the rest of the night…It wasn’t that big of a boat…oh…and his set was crazy…I got to build with DJ Medhi and he seemed impressed by the concept of the project…I met both of the dudes from Justice…I hit one of them with a CD…He loved the idea of the project and assured me he would check it out…one of the dudes from Justice and Medhi did a set…and body’d it…the crowd was huddled around the DJ booth…it was funky as hell..it smelled like hot locker room and onions… Last but not least was Busy P…he was cool as hell…me and him kicked alot throughout the night…I told him the details of the project and he was impressed with the fact that we didn’t chop up their music…that i just rode it out as it was…he seemed genuinely interested in what i did…we had drinks..talked some shit….we really got it popping…he knew some of the people I came with so we were all just going in!! It was classic…
Left the boat at like 4:30am…got a crepe…hit the train…and hit the sack…

Help us save the Chicago music Scene.  Currently, there is an ordinance about to pass in Chicago, IL that will effectively stifle creativity in Chicago’s musical, Theatrical and general cultural scenes (remark courtesy of Dani Deahl). This ‘Event Promoters’ ordinance will require any event promotor to have a license from the city of Chicago and liability insurance of $300,000. The effects of this ordinance are far reaching, affecting small bands, bars, people under the age of 21, and many more.

Big Ups to Gravee P for letting me know about this awesome project. Here is just a couple samples but you need to go ahead and go out and cop this FO SHO. Punk bands cover rap songs, I love it! I Wish was done pretty much as a rap song again from the electro drums down to the guy singing getting the T-Pain treatment on the vocals. Umbrella sounds more punk and freaking ROCKS courtesy of All Time Low.
