The Ting Tings … LazrTagged!

Lazrtag is one of those remixers who has yet to disappoint me. Now the Ting Tings on the other hand are one of those bands that everyone has been buzzing about but I have not bothered to take notice. But when Lazrtag sent me a mix, OK time to listen. The result? Dope electro indie rock goodness. And what do you know I kind of like the Ting Tings too. And yes I know this is super old now and everybody else has posted it probably…sorry for being so slow on this one buddy…but its killer and I couldn’t help but share it still.

Some more LAZRTAG. He is one of my favorites. No Homo.

I Let My Pants Hang Loooow – New Plies

Ok I know there are lots of thug rap fans that don’t like Plies, think he’s fake or some shit I dunno. I love him…since I first heard him on that Biggie sample track “I Just Want the Paper”. Also I’m not sure I have to worry about most of my readers being the thug rap type, so check it out if you in the mood for some o dat gangsta music. Mannie Fresh, aka the dopest dirty south producer out there, did the track and plies is on his typical goon and such. Hook is catchy as hell and the beat is fire, plus I can’t wait to get hammered and play this real loud and act all gangster with my pants falling off my booty. Big shout out to DJ Decko over at Green Hitz for this jam.

Dead Prez vs. Joy Division plus Mass Appeal Mixtape

First off, I am not a huge Girl Talk fan, or Easter Egg, or anybody like that. The music is interesting and every once in a while I might throw one on at a party if I think I can pull it off. So I get this DJ who sends me his mix and calls it in the fashion of Girl Talk, so I looked over it. I think I checked out one tune and kept it moving. A few months later I get another email recommending the same dude and his mixtape, probably somebody in his camp, anyhow…slow day in the office so I check out his mixtape, every track. Found a few that are pretty dope but the last jam on the tape, took me for a surprise. Man it started and chills shot up and down my body I kid you not. KILLER! So Autorock, well done. And sorry for not putting you on from the get go. The tune is Dead Prez “Hip Hop” over three tracks. First is Joy Divisions’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. The next two are on the tip of my tongue, but I can’t come up with them right now….o well thats what I have Vuji for. For more from Autorock of course check out his myspace or the whole Mass Appeal mixtape.

Internet Radio Slippin’ (Pimpin’)

What would we do without music while at work? Internet Radio providers are starting to wonder themselves what place there is in the Industry for Net Radio.

In the last 12 months, deals have been cut between SoundExchange and Internet radio’s closest competitors – satellite and cable radio – that set their royalty rates at less than half of what webcasters pay.  Being asked to pay an irrationally and unjustifiably higher royalty rate than its competition puts Net radio at a significant competitive disadvantage, but these deals do seem to have established the “price of music” for non traditional radio providers, a price providers are more than happy to pay.

Internet radio providers need your help to remind Congress that though Internet radio is still on the air and artists are still being paid for their work by webcasters, nothing has been resolved and a call to action is needed.  Call your Senators and your Representative and ask them to co-sponsor the Internet Radio Equality Act, H.R. 2060 and S. 1353.

I Can Write a Blog With No Handlebars

Finally, as this record starts to cool I find a remix of it I actually like. DJ Shadow! He breaths new life into this track with the uptempo drums, scratching, and added guitar riffs. Pretty dope.
